Synopsis

A young adventurer named Maegami Tarou learns that his village desperately needs the Water of Life to prosper, so he sets out to find it. Along the way he encounters gods and demons, and eventually discovers that an evil snake has stolen the Water and hidden it in its palace. The problem is that the snake can use the Water to bring itself back to life whenever Tarou damages it, making it a genuinely tough opponent. Undeterred, Tarou presses on with help from the various creatures and gods he befriends during his journey, determined to complete his quest and save his village.
