Synopsis

Shihono Kobayashi won't shut up about MagiKoi, an otome game where you play as a magic academy student named Fiene. She's always ranting to her friend Aoto Endou about it, but here's the thing—she's not actually obsessed with the protagonist or any of the romantic interests. No, Kobayashi is completely fixated on Lieselotte Riefenstahl, the game's villainess. Lieselotte acts cold and hostile toward Fiene, but secretly wants to be her friend. She's also genuinely in love with Prince Siegwald Fitzenhagen, the main love interest. Problem is, Lieselotte gets a tragic ending in basically every route. Kobayashi somehow talks Endou into playing through the game with her under the guise of practicing his speaking skills. But things get weird fast. Siegwald suddenly starts hearing their voices—like, actually hearing them comment from outside the game. The prince realizes he and Fiene are communicating with "gods," and Endou and Kobayashi take that responsibility seriously. They use their commentary and analysis to keep their favorite tsundere villainess from meeting her doomed fate.
