Synopsis

Nuclear testing accidentally evolved the Fumoon, a tiny but brilliant humanoid species living on a remote island. Dr. Yamadano discovers them, but nobody believes him—except for detective Shinsaku Ban and two young guys, Rock and Kenichi, along with Kenichi's sister Pichi. Turns out the Fumoon are collecting animals from around the world because they know Earth is doomed. A massive cloud of black gas from a stellar explosion is headed straight for the planet, so they're planning to evacuate in their spaceships and leave humanity behind. The one exception is Rokoko, a Fumoon who befriends Kenichi and decides to help. Working with Dr. Yamadano, Rokoko teams up with Dr. Ochanomizu and Dr. Frankenstein to build a spacecraft that might save at least a handful of humans from extinction.
