Synopsis

On the set of the children's show "Together with Mama," a burnt-out crew plasters on smiles and cheerful energy to entertain preschoolers. At the center is Uramichi Omota, a washed-up gymnast who can't resist dropping harsh reality checks on the kids—even while the cameras are rolling. He's basically the anti-children's TV host, constantly exposing the bleak side of growing up. Things get worse for Uramichi when his two annoying coworkers are around. They play the show's mascot characters and regularly get under his skin: Utano Tadano, an aspiring bride-to-be desperate to get married, and Iketeru Daga, a conventionally attractive guy with a crude sense of humor. Between chain-smoking, griping about exercise, and going on nihilistic rants, Uramichi manages to be the group's big brother figure while openly modeling all the worst habits and most depressing life lessons imaginable.
