Synopsis

There's a tower that appears to people it deems worthy—"Regulars"—and promises to fulfill whatever they desire most, whether that's money, status, power, or something even greater. Bam grew up in complete isolation, trapped in a dark cave with nothing but a dirty rag and the faint glow of distant light. Everything changed when Rachel found him and squeezed through. She became his best friend and his window to the outside world. But when she tells him she's leaving to climb the Tower, Bam can't accept it. He chases after her, desperate to follow—and somehow, impossibly, the Tower's gates open for him. This is where Bam's story really begins. Unlike Regulars, he wasn't chosen by the Tower; he forced his way in. The Tower calls people like him "Irregulars," and for good reason. Every Irregular who enters fundamentally destabilizes everything the Tower stands on.
