Kemurikusa (TV)
A group of young girls with strange powers and a tree growing through an old railcar are barely scraping by in a wasteland, desperately hunting for water. Their daily survival routine gets shaken up when Wakaba shows up—a boy who can't remember anything except his own name. The girls decide to bring him along on a dangerous journey across seas of toxic red fog to reach distant islands. It's risky, but those islands might have what they need to survive—assuming they can deal with the swarms of robotic bugs infesting them. The key to their survival might actually be Wakaba himself, since he has this weird ability to communicate with Kemurikusa: mysterious glowing leaves that seem to have some kind of power. Between the girls, Wakaba, and the endless robot bugs, the Kemurikusa are basically the only signs of life left in this dead world. But a lot of mystery hangs over everything. How did the world get this bad? Why are there all these empty buildings everywhere? Wakaba and the girls have no clue—which means the only way to get answers is by figuring out what the Kemurikusa really are.
