Action Heroine Cheer Fruits
A few years back, local heroines—superheroes who represent their towns and put on stage shows to boost community pride—became a huge thing. Kamidaio, the biggest name in the scene, was supposed to perform in the small town of Hinano, and Mikan Kise's little sister Yuzu was hyped. But when Mikan takes her to the show, it gets canceled. Not wanting to disappoint Yuzu, Mikan throws together her own performance and drags her classmate An Akagi—a total local heroine superfan—into helping. They throw on some homemade costumes and do their own Kamidaio act. It's rough around the edges, but the kids eat it up. The student council president, Misaki Shirogane, films the whole thing and uploads it online. Misaki's from a political family and is basically on a mission to save Hinano from obscurity. She's impressed enough by what Mikan and An pulled off that she recruits them as the town's official local heroines. From there, the group keeps leveling up their shows and brings in all kinds of interesting people to help make it happen.
