Tomorrow's Joe 2 The Movie
Ashita no Joe 2 (Movie)
Six months have passed since Rikiishi's death during his fight with Joe. Thinking he's finally moved past it, Joe attempts a comeback and tears through five opponents with devastating body shots. The boxing commission sees an opportunity and gives him a title shot against champion Tiger Ozaki—figuring it's a good way to take Joe down a notch. But Joe's still haunted by what happened. He can't bring himself to punch Ozaki in the face, and it costs him. Ozaki exploits Joe's hesitation ruthlessly, eventually forcing his corner to throw in the towel. Youko, who runs the gym where Rikiishi trained and harbors feelings for Joe, refuses to let him stay broken. She brings in Carlos Rivera, a world-ranked boxer from Venezuela, to help snap Joe out of his funk and get him back on track—this time with his sights set on regional and world titles.
