Synopsis

Three centuries after the Calamity War between Earth and its space colonies, the planet is carved up between four economic blocs while Gjallarhorn, a massive military organization, maintains order. Mars, though, is basically dependent on Earth's money and has it rough. Kudelia Aina Bernstein, a young noble from the Chryse Autonomous Region, is disturbed by how badly Martians live. She's gotten involved in the independence movement and needs to travel to Earth to negotiate better economic deals with the bloc controlling her region. For protection, she hires Chryse Guard Security—a mercenary outfit that assigns her the Third Army Division, a unit of child soldiers led by Mikazuki Augus and Orga Itsuka. Gjallarhorn sees Kudelia as a threat to their power and launches an assault on CGS to kill her. But Orga and his squad stand their ground. The attack ends up being a turning point—what Gjallarhorn meant as a quick assassination becomes the spark that sets these kids on a path to control their own futures.
