Synopsis

Tsukasa—a young wavemaster who goes only by that alias—wakes up in the MMORPG The World with no memory of what he's been doing. Things get complicated fast when the Crimson Knights spot him hanging around with a tweaked cat-form character and immediately peg him as a hacker. Worse, he can't log out. So he's stuck wandering the game world, dodging the knights and other players while trying to figure out what's actually going on. While exploring, Tsukasa finds a mysterious item that acts as a "guardian" and offers him protection. This catches the attention of Subaru, leader of the Crimson Knights, who teams up with a few other players Tsukasa's met along the way. Together they start investigating why Tsukasa is trapped in the game and what's really happening before things spiral out of control.
