Synopsis

Tokyo's undergoing a massive overhaul called the Babylon Project—new neighborhoods, artificial islands in the bay, the works. They're using Labors, basically giant robots built for construction, to speed things up. But when one of the project's key architects turns up dead under suspicious circumstances, it gets labeled a suicide. Captain Kiichi Gotou's police unit gets called in to investigate. Things escalate fast. Labors start glitching out across the city, and it becomes clear someone's hacked into the AI systems controlling them. With Tokyo in danger, young pilot Noa Izumi and her Patlabor unit—a police robot named Alphonse—are sent out under Gotou's command to figure out what's actually happening. Turns out there's a massive conspiracy at play, one with biblical implications, and stopping it falls on them.
