Synopsis

Yoriko Kusumoto is a scatterbrained schoolgirl completely smitten with her classmate Kanako Yuzuki. They're planning a summer trip together when everything goes horribly wrong—Kanako ends up severely wounded on some train tracks, and Yoriko's found on the platform in tears. Detective Shuutarou Kiba happened to be on the train that hit her, so he takes the case. What he uncovers is messy: the incident connects to a whole web of lies involving the Yuzuki family, especially Youko Yuzuki, a famous actress and Kanako's older sister. Kanako pulls through surgery, but her condition is serious enough that Youko arranges for her to be treated by Dr. Koushirou Mimasaka at a remote, isolated facility deep in the forest. The place has an unsettling vibe, and they're planning to use some kind of experimental treatment. One night when Kiba and Yoriko visit, Kanako simply disappears. Things get worse from there. While searching for her, Kiba stumbles onto something horrific: severed limbs of young girls, stashed in boxes. A colleague suggests these discoveries aren't random—they're connected to both Kanako's vanishing and whatever's really going on with her sister. With help from his partners Tatsumi Sekiguchi and Akihiko Chuuzenji, Kiba has to untangle this twisted case and find Kanako before it's too late.
