Synopsis

Plunderer In the world of Alcia, everyone has a Count—a number literally marked on their body that represents something meaningful to their life. Your Count determines your social standing and power, and if it ever hits zero, you're dragged down into the Abyss, a fate supposedly worse than death itself. Hina's Count is based on the distance she travels. After watching her mother get pulled into the Abyss, she sets out to honor her mother's final wishes by searching for the legendary Aces—powerful heroes from a war three centuries past, identifiable by the white star marked alongside their Count. During her travels, Hina meets Licht Bach, a masked stranger who somehow has a negative Count, and Nana, who runs a local tavern. Things take a turn when Hina gets tricked into fighting a military soldier, but Licht jumps in to save her. When he does, he reveals his secret: he has another Count entirely, complete with that distinctive white star. He's one of the legendary Aces. The story follows Hina and her growing group of companions as they journey across Alcia, slowly uncovering the truth about their world, the mystery of the Abyss, and the real story behind the Aces.
