Shinpei Ajiro grew up on Hitogashima Island with the Kofune family after his parents died, living alongside their two daughters, Mio and Ushio. Years later, he's moved to Tokyo for school, but he comes back home when Ushio drowns trying to save another kid. At her funeral, his best friend drops a bombshell—there were bruises around her neck. Suddenly, it doesn't look like a simple drowning anymore. Convinced something sinister happened, Shinpei starts piecing together recent events. But the more he investigates, the weirder things get. People vanish without explanation, strange stuff keeps happening, and Mio eventually remembers an old island legend about creatures called "Shadows." Turns out, this folklore might actually be real. According to the legend, seeing your own Shadow means you're about to die. Now Shinpei's trapped in a nightmare unfolding on his hometown island. He's determined to fight back against this dark fate and honor Ushio's last wish—keeping Mio safe, no matter what it takes.
