NHK runs an annual Heat Exhibition every March where people with disabilities can submit poetry for a chance to have it paired with original artwork by celebrities. The event accepts 50 submissions each year. One poem from Megumi Ichimura, who has an intellectual disability, caught the attention of classically trained violinist Ikuko Kawai, who composed a melody for it. Together with singer Emiko Shiratori, they turned it into a song called "Obaachan Moshikashite," which aired on the Minna no Uta program in April 2005. The video combines live-action footage with animation created by Seiichi Hayashi.
