Synopsis

Lily Baker, a young English girl, heads to an arcade on Valentine's Day dead set on winning a stuffed animal from the claw machine. After hours of failed attempts, she's about to call it quits when Renji Kusakabe, who works at the arcade, steps in and wins it for her. It's a sweet gesture, but Lily—unfamiliar with Japanese customs—totally misinterprets it as a love confession. This kicks off a pattern: Lily keeps coming back to the arcade hoping to see Renji again. The two start passing a notebook back and forth, using it to learn about each other and their different cultures. What begins as a fun friendship built around gaming becomes something more one-sided when Lily decides she's going to make Renji fall in love with her—no matter what it takes.
