Synopsis

Gaku Kitada's been obsessed with math since he was a kid. At the elite Wels Academy, he was dead set on making the Mathematics Olympiad and getting into Tokyo University to become a mathematician. But things didn't go according to plan—his anxiety got the better of him during the qualifying round, and he bombed it. Too discouraged to try again, he ends up getting expelled from the academy. That's when he crosses paths with Kai Asakura, a mysterious professional chef who notices something unusual about the way Gaku cooks. He's been using mathematical principles to create dishes where every ingredient works in perfect harmony. Gaku's initially skeptical, but he starts leaning into this approach, and suddenly math doesn't feel like a dead end anymore—it actually excites him again. He realizes he doesn't have to choose between numbers and passion. Instead, he decides to pursue cooking as a way to merge the two: using mathematical thinking to craft dishes that satisfy both his analytical mind and his customers' taste buds.
