Synopsis

In the Kingdom of Yamauchi, people can transform into three-legged crows called yatagarasu. While the men handle politics, women compete for the affection of Wakamiya, the crown prince—who's also been chosen as the Kinu, servant to the Mountain God. Four young women show up at court for the competition, including a girl named Asebi. Asebi's kind and innocent nature makes her stand out awkwardly among the others. Meanwhile, Wakamiya's dealing with his own problems. Born to a concubine and as the second son, he shouldn't have been chosen as the Kinu—his older brother should've gotten it. But the royal priests picked him anyway, which created serious tension with his brother and infuriated his stepmother. Things get more complicated when Yukiya, a teenage son of the village chief, arrives at the palace as Wakamiya's new attendant. The prince isn't happy about it. Except Yukiya's appearance at court isn't random—there's definitely something else going on.
