Professor Tachibana assembled a team at the Future Science Invention Center and equipped them—Shin, Go, Lisa, and Captain Kenmotsu—with five cutting-edge vehicles. Three of these Tester vehicles could combine into the giant robot Zero Tester, which the team used to fight off the Armanoid invasion over 38 episodes. The show then shifted gears for its second half, retitled ZT: Save the Earth!, targeting a younger audience and introducing a new threat: the Gallos aliens.
