Synopsis

In an alternate Meiji Era, a guy named Sakamoto Ryunosuke comes back to Kyoto from Shanghai with a youkai cat named Nekomaru. The thing is, youkai need licenses to live alongside humans—and the Kidou Shinsengumi Co. Ltd. is the organization tasked with hunting down unlicensed ones. Problem is, they're constantly clashing with the Tsubamegumi, a rival group that opposes the whole licensing system. Plot twist: Ryunosuke turns out to be the son of the Shinsengumi's owner, which complicates basically everything.
