Synopsis

Katsuya Niimi, a track star, and Susumu Karasawa, a judo champion, are about to start at Seishuu High School when they spot a girl crying outside—the baseball team just lost badly. Wanting to cheer her up, they decide to join the team and turn it around. Turns out she's Yuri Nakao, the coach's daughter, and the team's in serious trouble: win or get shut down. The story follows these two along with pitcher Eiji Kurahashi and Yuri as Niimi and Karasawa learn what baseball's actually about and what it means to be part of a nine-person team. Together they work through high school, aiming for Koushien.
