Five-year-old Ami-chan discovers a hidden door in her bedroom floor that leads to Animal Yokocho, a strange parallel world where she befriends three talking animals: Issa, a gentle and naive panda; Kenta, an anxious bear with a obsession over his red scarf who constantly acts tough; and Iyo, a selfish rabbit more concerned with her own comfort than her friends' safety. Despite her age, Ami-chan is by far the most sensible member of the group. She's cautious at first, but gradually warms up to them and starts spending her free time in their world. What typically follows are innocent-sounding games and activities that twist into bizarre, illogical, and surprisingly dangerous versions of themselves—very much in keeping with Animal Yokocho's strange logic.
