Synopsis

The franchise follows wizards who collect mazica to save the world. Junior high student Kezuru has a vivid dream about being a wizard, encountering a creature called a "mazin," and meeting a mysterious girl. The next day, his friend Kuracchi excitedly shows him the newly released Mazica Party card game—and Kezuru is stunned to recognize the exact same characters from his dream printed on the cards. Things get stranger when Kezuru gets an invite to an event at Mazica, the massive international company behind the game. He heads to their store and meets Jeff Johns, the CEO himself, who tells him, "I have great expectations for you," before handing over a device called Mazica Gear. On his way home, Kezuru gets attacked by a flying ship-like creature. Just as he's convinced he's done for, his Mazica Gear activates and releases a magic book. He scratches a card and forms a contract with Barunya—a mazin that's basically a weird hybrid of an airship and a cat. A girl named Anya reveals that Kezuru and others like him are destined to be "the true wizards who save the world." Now caught up in all this mystery, Kezuru enrolls at Mazica Academy, where he battles other players in Mazica Party card games with Barunya by his side.
