Synopsis

The group pushes toward the fortress of the island's ruler—a creature known as the Tensen—hoping to find the elixir of immortality and escape. To make it out alive, even sworn enemies like criminals and executioners have to work together. Back on the mainland, the shogunate isn't sitting idle. They send reinforcements to the island, including the executioner Shugen Yamada Asayemon. The landing party also brings the Ishigakure clan, who have history with Gabimaru. As desperation mounts, Gabimaru and his allies finally confront the Tensen. What starts as one battle spirals into something much bigger—a full-scale war between humans and immortals.
