Synopsis

For centuries, shrine maidens called Toji have protected humanity from Aratama—destructive supernatural creatures hellbent on destroying the world. In the present day, these warriors operate as part of a special police unit tasked with eliminating Aratama. To train the next generation, the government runs five elite schools across Japan where young girls learn swordsmanship and combat skills. Kanami Etou, a student at Minoseki Academy, gets selected to compete in a national sword fighting tournament. There she encounters Hiyori Juujou, a mysterious girl who quickly proves herself formidable. As both fighters advance through the rounds, their eventual clash doesn't go as expected—instead of a normal match, something happens that sends shockwaves through the entire Toji organization. Suspecting internal betrayal, Kanami and Hiyori are forced to go on the run. They find themselves hunted by former allies and comrades, leaving them to navigate a world that's suddenly turned against them.
