Synopsis

Aoi Mashiro moved away from home six months ago, but after a bad breakup, she's desperate to go back and confront her ex. Broke and needing train fare, she swipes two hanging scrolls from her grandfather's attic and hauls them to an antique shop in Kyoto's Teramachi Sanjou shopping district. That's when everything changes. The shop's owner's grandson, Kiyotaka Yagashira, is the one who checks out her scrolls. He's a grad student at Kyoto University with a reputation for incredible deductive skills—so good that people call him "Holmes," partly as a pun on his name. Looking at what Aoi brought in, Kiyotaka realizes she's got solid intuition, maybe even as sharp as his. Impressed and sympathetic to her situation, he offers her a part-time job so she can earn the money honestly. Before long, Aoi and Kiyotaka are working together at the shop and all around town, helping locals solve whatever problems come their way. Between his deduction skills and her intuition, they make an unstoppable modern-day Holmes and Watson.
