Synopsis

Koyuki Tanaka is a directionless fourteen-year-old with nothing going for him—until he saves a scrappy dog named Beck from some bullies. The dog belongs to Ryuusuke Minami, a talented sixteen-year-old guitarist who used to play in a successful rock band but left to do his own thing. When Ryuusuke takes Koyuki back to the old band's hangout and shows off his skills, something clicks. Koyuki gets hooked on the idea of rock music and Western rock culture in general, and decides to learn guitar himself. He wants to help Ryuusuke put together the ultimate band and make it big. Joined by Ryuusuke's younger sister Maho and a handful of other musicians, the two of them start a band called BECK. The series chronicles their journey as they work through the typical struggles and victories of trying to make it in the Japanese rock scene.
