Synopsis

It's the 1920s, and Japan is under siege by demons. The military's response? Bulky steam-powered robot suits—except there's a catch. Only pure-hearted young women with the right spiritual power can actually pilot them. Sakura, a girl from the countryside, shows up in the Imperial Capital ready to join the Imperial Flower Combat Troop. She's got what it takes to be a pilot, but she gets hit with a weird curveball: the whole unit is secretly a military defense force, but their cover is a musical theatre troupe. And they're committed to that cover. So Sakura's juggling rehearsals, memorizing scripts, learning how to fight in a giant robot, and trying not to mess up her lines—all while actually saving the country from demon invasion.
