Synopsis

Middle school student Yoshio Kobayashi wakes up in class to find his teacher brutally murdered—and he's holding the murder weapon. Rather than panicking, the curious and oddly detached Yoshio is actually excited about being framed. He drags his reluctant friend Souji into helping him prove his innocence. Enter Kogorou Akechi, a brilliant teenage detective investigating the case. When Kogorou meets Yoshio, something clicks between them. Yoshio becomes determined to work as Akechi's assistant, and Akechi is equally interested in testing whether this strange kid can actually help solve crimes. This surreal mystery-horror anime follows their partnership as they tackle bizarre and brutal cases. The series draws inspiration from Ranpo Edogawa, a legendary figure in Japanese crime fiction.
