Synopsis

It's 1999, and Amamori Hajime is just your typical elementary school kid—studying, hanging out with his friends, living a normal life. That all changes when his father's experimental equipment explodes and takes their house down with it. Orphaned, Hajime moves in with his uncle, who runs an observatory. And wouldn't you know it, the first person he meets there is Yukino Yayoi, a girl he's had a crush on. Turns out she's his uncle's assistant and her parents own a ramen shop in town. Pretty lucky, right? Except Yayoi's got a major secret. She's the Millennial Queen, chosen by her home planet LaMetal to prepare Earth for a catastrophe. See, LaMetal has this wildly elliptical orbit that brings it dangerously close to Earth every thousand years. When it gets near enough, Earth gets hammered with natural disasters. While she was officially sent to protect LaMetal, Yayoi's got her own agenda—she plans to evacuate as many humans as possible to LaMetal so they'll survive if her planet gets destroyed. But she's not the only one playing this game. The leader of the Millennial Thieves is determined to stop her, and he's clearly got inside knowledge about the whole Queen situation. So what's his deal, and why is he so invested in blocking her plan?
