Synopsis

Takuya Enoki's life is pretty rough for a fifth grader. His mom died in a car accident a few months back, and now he's stuck taking care of his baby brother Minoru while their dad works nonstop—the typical grind of a Japanese salaryman. That basically means Takuya's childhood is over. He's got everything to handle now: cooking, cleaning, worrying about Minoru, trying to keep him in line. The neighbors aren't making it easier either, constantly complaining about the baby's crying like it's his fault. Meanwhile, he watches his friends actually get to be kids, doing whatever they want in their free time. It's not going to be smooth sailing—there'll be plenty of rough patches—but maybe, just maybe, he'll figure out what family really means along the way.
