Synopsis

Fate Graphite works as a gatekeeper in a brutal world where your birth skill determines everything about your future. He's stuck with Gluttony, a skill that leaves him constantly starving and marks him as worthless—which the holy knights make sure to remind him of through constant abuse. His life completely changes when he kills an injured thief trying to escape, and Gluttony suddenly awakens, boosting his stats and unlocking new abilities. The turning point comes when Roxy Hart, basically the only decent holy knight around, offers him a job. Fate jumps at it. He also meets Greed, a talking sword who becomes his partner and fills him in on the real deal: Gluttony is forbidden magic that shouldn't exist. Now Fate's living a double life—by day he's a regular employee, but at night he hunts monsters and absorbs their souls to feed his hunger. If he doesn't, he loses control, and with it, any shot at an actual life.
