Synopsis

An arrogant scientist wakes up in a pigpen covered in mud with no memory of how he got there—only a vague recollection of eating raw pig liver in a subway before everything went black. He's not in Kansas anymore: he's actually become a pig, and he's trapped in some kind of fantasy world. A young girl named Jess finds him in this disoriented state and takes him under her wing. She's a Yesma, a telepathic servant class marked by silver collars and treated as second-class citizens. Despite his less-than-noble thoughts about her, Jess puts herself out for him, and the pig decides he owes her his loyalty—even if he can only repay it as livestock. The thing is, Jess's kindness doesn't protect her from the discrimination her people face every day. The more time the pig spends with her, the more he realizes she's in serious trouble. He desperately wants to make his way to the royal capital and convince the king to turn him back human. But he can't just abandon the one person who helped him, no matter how much he needs to get his old life back.
