Synopsis

Kiri Haimura is obsessed with cutting hair—so obsessed that he goes looking for a ghost with long hair rumored to haunt an abandoned hilltop house. Instead of a ghost, he finds Iwai Mushanokouji, a gorgeous girl known as the "Hair Queen," whose hair is cursed and can't be cut by normal means. Iwai fills him in on the dark truth: she's caught in a deadly game. There are people called "Authors" who wield cursed weapons called "Killing Goods," and if one of them manages to kill her with their weapon, they get a wish granted. It's basically a death game centered around her. When Authors attack, Kiri discovers his own family has a Killing Good—a pair of scissors his ancestor used to murder people. He names them "The Severing Crime Edge," and it turns out these scissors are the only thing that can actually cut Iwai's cursed hair, potentially freeing her from the curse and letting her live normally. But now that word is out, countless Authors are after her, each hoping to be the one to claim the kill and get their wish. Kiri's stuck protecting her in this brutal game of fate.
