Shooting Star Gakusaver
Ryuuseiki Gakusaver
A meteorite crashed to Earth years ago. Inside it, scientists discovered a mysterious alien capsule—dubbed the "black box"—that became the subject of an international research project called Project BB. Eight students, including a guy named Manabu Yoshimura, attend International Academy near Project BB headquarters. Their teacher Toukichi Hashiba bribes them with extra credit to participate in an experiment: they'll enter eight separate chambers inside the meteorite and concentrate really hard on imagining a giant robot. According to Hashiba's theory, the meteorite responds to human thoughts, so if they all focus hard enough, something should happen. Then an alien named Wercury shows up on a giant spaceship and demands the meteorite—apparently it belonged to his people, the Choshin. Hand it over or face invasion. The kids don't know what's happening, but their concentrated thoughts actually work: the meteorite transforms into a massive robot that Hashiba names "Gakusaver." The problem? Coordinating eight different people's thoughts to pilot one robot is nearly impossible. Gakusaver can barely function, let alone fight properly. Now Manabu and his friends have to figure out how to work together and actually defend Earth against Prokimasi forces, all while learning to control a giant robot that only works when they're all on the same page.
