Synopsis

A damaged spaceship crashes on a dying planet and explodes, releasing pure energy from the mysterious beings piloting it. This energy revitalizes the world, bringing it back to life. Popo lives peacefully with his mother in a remote forest teeming with insects of all kinds. His biggest dream is to grow strong enough to find his father, who abandoned them years ago. His father was the Forest Guardian—a dedicated researcher obsessed with understanding their world. Everything changes when a strange mist overtakes the forest. A sinister figure named Passer emerges, blaming Popo's father for all the forest's troubles and declaring him an enemy. Popo rushes home only to discover his mother has been transformed into something between human and plant. Desperate, Popo realizes only his father can save her and restore the forest. He sets out to find him. But his journey won't be easy. The villain Adder and his army of giant beetles hunt Popo constantly, trying to stop him. Fortunately, Popo isn't alone—Mushiking, the King of Beetles, appears whenever Popo is in the most danger, using his incredible strength to save the boy and keep him moving forward. As Popo discovers he's destined to become the next Forest Guardian, his quest to reunite with his father truly begins, with Mushiking at his side as protector and guide.
