Synopsis

After defending his village from a goblin raid, Parn joins forces with the priest Etoh, the elf Deedlit, the dwarf Ghim, and the magician Slayn to investigate a spreading darkness across the island of Lodoss. Their investigation leads them into trouble with demonic creatures and gets them arrested in a fortified city, but that's the least of their problems—they're powerless to stop the warrior Ashram, sent by the ambitious warlord Beld, from taking the city and killing its captain. Humiliated by his helplessness, Parn vows to become strong enough to defeat Ashram. But there's something bigger going on. The witch Karla is pulling strings behind Beld's conquest, orchestrating a plan that threatens to consume all of Lodoss. If Parn and his companions don't stop her, everything they care about will be destroyed.
