When 15-year-old Hiromi Oka starts at Nishi High School, she's immediately drawn to tennis after watching star player Reika Ryuuzaki—known as "Ochoufujin"—in action. She joins the tennis club, only to run into Jin Munakata, the new coach who turns out to be intense. His training is brutal, pushing even the club's best players to their limits. Hiromi's got guts though, and her determination impresses Munakata enough that he puts her on the main roster. But that comes with a catch: suddenly she's dealing with pressure from her upperclassmen who expect her to become the team's ace player.
