A decade after the events of xxxHOLiC Shunmuki, Kimihiro Watanuki—now noticeably sadder—is running Yuuko's shop as promised. He shares the space with Maru, Moro, and Mokona, living a fairly quiet life interrupted by visits from old acquaintances: Shizuka Doumeki, his former rival turned loyal friend, and Kohane Tsuyuri, a once-gifted psychic now studying folklore under Doumeki at university. When the two of them stumble onto a case, it's naturally something only Watanuki can handle.
