An evil alien called Dryus attacked Earth, so Fighbird, the leader of Space Patrol, chased him down. Fighbird merged with an android that Dr. Amano had been developing, taking on the human identity of Hidori Ryutaro to fight Dryus and protect the planet. On the surface, Ryutaro seemed like an ordinary guy, but his alien nature made him act a little off compared to normal people. He spent most of his time working as Dr. Amano's assistant, usually looking pretty scruffy in his white coat and glasses. Everything changed the moment danger showed up though—his whole personality would shift when it was time to fight.
