In the far future, humanity faces invasion by the Abh Empire—a technologically advanced alien race that's already conquered countless worlds. In response, mankind forms the Four Nations Alliance as a unified resistance, pooling forces from the United Mankind, the Republic of Greater Alcont, the Federation of Hania, and the People's Sovereign of Union Planets. Seikai no Monshou follows Jinto Linn, a young man whose life took a complicated turn when his father—president of the planet Martine—traded their entire world to the Abh in exchange for nobility and power. Now a count himself, Jinto has to navigate Abh high society and live alongside the very people who conquered his homeworld. His guide through this strange new life is Lafiel Abriel, an Abh princess who becomes his closest friend despite the awkwardness of their circumstances. While heading to school in the Abh's home territory, Jinto and Lafiel's ship gets caught in the crossfire of a massive battle between Alliance and Abh fleets. Suddenly swept into active combat, neither realizes they're witnessing the spark that will ignite a full-scale war between the entire empire and the last of humanity's free nations.
