Synopsis

When the NerveGear hit the market, it promised full-dive virtual reality gaming to players worldwide. Sword Art Online became the killer app—a sprawling medieval fantasy called Aincrad where players could theoretically do anything. It was revolutionary stuff. Then everything went sideways. The game's creator trapped thousands of players inside with no way out. The logout function was gone. The only escape? Clear all hundred floors of increasingly brutal dungeons. Oh, and dying in-game means dying for real. Kirito, a beta-tester who should've had an edge, quickly realizes he can't solo this nightmare. He teams up with Asuna and other skilled players to push through the gauntlet of deadly bosses and scheming guilds. Turns out having an advantage doesn't mean much when the odds are this stacked against you.
