Synopsis

Marco Pagot was a World War I flying ace until a curse transformed him into a pig. Now known as Porco Rosso, he's become a bounty hunter working the Adriatic, taking down sky pirates and living a quiet life on a remote island. His only real social outlet is visiting Gina, a cabaret singer who runs the Hotel Adriano. Things change when a cocky American pilot named Donald Curtis shoots him down. Donald's thrilled—he thinks killing the legendary flying pig will make him famous. Wanting to spare Gina the bad news, Porco Rosso heads to Piccolo S.P.A., a top airplane manufacturer, and takes out a hefty loan to rebuild and upgrade his damaged fighter. He gets a shock when he learns the company's chief engineer is seventeen-year-old Fio Piccolo, determined to prove herself in what's typically a man's world. With her help enhancing his plane, Porco Rosso gears up for a rematch with Donald to restore his reputation.
