Looking for the Full Moon
Full Moon wo Sagashite
Mitsuki Kouyama has spent the last two years dreaming about her best friend Eichi, who moved to America before she could tell him how she felt. They made a promise to chase their dreams apart—his to become an astronomer, hers to become a professional singer. She figures that someday, her music will reach him across the world, shining as bright as the full moon. There's a problem though. Mitsuki has throat cancer, and it's already making her voice weak and singing painful. Her grandmother, who hates music, wants her to get surgery to remove it. But Mitsuki refuses—she's terrified of losing her voice. Then one day, two shinigami named Meroko and Takuto show up with some bad news: she's only got a year left to live. That's when everything changes. With nothing to lose, Mitsuki decides to make her dream happen. She convinces Meroko and Takuto to help her become a professional singer before her time runs out. Full Moon wo Sagashite is the emotional story of Mitsuki and her two shinigami companions as they figure out what it really means to sing—and what it really means to live.
