Synopsis

In a small rural town, one junior high football player dominates the local scene: Ashito Aoi. He's got incredible instincts and plays pretty much for himself, but he's basically carrying his team through the preliminary tournament for high schools. Their run doesn't last long, though—during a crucial game, Ashito loses it, gets physical, and gets benched. Without him, the team crashes out of the tournament. Just when things look hopeless, a youth team coach named Tatsuya Fukuda spots something in him and invites him to tryouts in Tokyo. Now Ashito has to step up in a completely new environment, surrounded by actually talented players, and prove he's got what it takes to make something of himself.
