Synopsis

Abraha, a powerful general from southern Arabia, marches north toward Mecca with a massive army demanding the city's surrender, enslavement of its people, and destruction of the Kaaba. Most Meccans flee, but a handful decide to stay and fight—including Aws Ibn Jubair, a former potter who turned his life around after abandoning crime to pursue faith and honor. When Abraha's forces close in at nightfall, the drastically outnumbered defenders try to keep spirits up. Then Zurara shows up—an atheist mercenary and Aws' old partner in crime who never reformed. He's only there for money and food, but hearing how Aws changed his life makes him reconsider. The two former friends realize that Mecca represents something worth fighting for—a place where they can actually find redemption. So they reunite to defend it against impossible odds.
