Synopsis

Mei finds a weird round creature hanging out in her house that won't stop saying "chimi." She and her sisters Mutsumi and Hazuki figure they'll just keep it until someone comes looking for it. Then someone says the word "hell," and suddenly there are eleven more of these things showing up. Pretty soon there's a portal opening up, and out steps Jabberwock the Eighth—a horned, fanged demon covered in fur who's been sent to basically turn Earth into a living nightmare. Turns out conquering humanity is way harder than it sounds. Jabberwock ends up crashing with the Onigami sisters, who also adopt his crew of cute little demon spirits (the "chimi" things). The sisters start calling him Jigoku-san, and he's supposed to be this terrifying force of evil, but mostly he just has to deal with the mundane chaos of actually living with humans. His mission to take over the world gets put on hold while he struggles through the everyday annoyances that come with being a demon roommate.
