Synopsis

Based on Winsor McCay's classic Little Nemo comic strips, this film follows the tradition McCay himself started when he made the first Little Nemo animated movie back in 1911. The project had some notable names attached early on. Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata were originally involved but eventually left over creative differences. Ray Bradbury also reportedly departed during the film's early development stages. The finished product became a landmark release—it was the first anime film to get a wide theatrical release across the United States.
