Synopsis

Lu Chen was once an elite undercover agent for the Fuyun Division until he destroyed a demon sect spell—and paid the price. A curse of black fire destroyed his cultivation completely, forcing him into a decade of hiding. When his old mentor Master Tian Lan finally tracks him down, she has a new job: infiltrate Kunlun Sect and root out demon sect moles. To do this, Lu Chen has to pose as a lowly handyman disciple while secretly searching for pieces of a broken Five Elements God Disk. The assignment changes everything. While working at Kunlun, he makes genuine friends and falls for Yi Xin, gradually discovering what it feels like to belong somewhere. More importantly, he starts uncovering some uncomfortable truths. The black dragon imprisoned in Kunlun's forbidden zone isn't actually a monster—and Master Tian Lan, the supposedly righteous mentor he trusted, has been playing him all along. Faced with the reality that good and evil aren't as clear-cut as he thought, Lu Chen has an identity crisis. But Yi Xin helps him move past it. Instead of clinging to old notions of right and wrong, he decides to trust his instincts and do what actually feels right.
