Synopsis

The series follows in the tradition of manga like Doraemon and Obake no Q-Taro, centering on Ganmo, an alien who looks like a chicken in sneakers, and his friendship with a human boy named Hanpeita as they stumble through one comedic disaster after another. It all starts when Tsukune Tsukuda, Hanpeita's sister, lets out his pet bird in a fit of anger. Feeling guilty, she finds an egg and brings it home as a replacement. Hanpeita's not thrilled with the weird-looking thing, but the egg hatches to reveal Ganmo—a strange bird-like creature who actually talks like a person and decides to move in with the family. Determined not to be a freeloader, Ganmo tries his best to help out around the house and run errands. The problem is, he's terrible at everything. Every attempt to prove his worth just creates more chaos, which only makes him try harder—and mess up worse. Things get even messier when a cute girl moves in next door with her own unusual pet: a snooty myna bird named Deja-vu. It's rude and catty, and it loves making fun of Ganmo's weird appearance. With that kind of competition, Ganmo's life only gets more complicated as his well-intentioned blunders pile up around him.
